The award of 30th TT CCM was just published. Theme of the tourney was: fairy twomovers (#2 with at least one fairy element present) showing multiple threat in at least one try or solution.

The Festival, organized by the Serbian Chess Problemists Society, will take place from 11th till 13th May 2012, as announced last Summer. The main event is the Open Solving Championship of Serbia (May 12th–13th, WCSC system, Directors: Gligor & Ivan Denkovski). The list of qualifiers from Serbia is completed, while all solvers from other countries will be welcome.

Nikolay Dimitrov is a famous Bulgarian chess composer. He was born on 19th October 1929 in Dryanovo and since 1933 he has been living in Varna. Nikolay Dimitrov began playing chess at the age of 14. He became a junior champion of Varna in 1945 and 1946, and in 1948 he became a student champion of the city.

Chess Composition Microweb announces formal thematical tourney for fairy helpmates in any number of moves (i.e. h#n with at least one fairy element present, n can be any) showing set play besides real solution. The set play can be of any length, from one halfmove long to one halfmove less than the normal solution, the important difference is the other side starting.

 The Israeli twin composers Hillel and Yoel Aloni will celebrate their 75th anniversary on September 30th 2012. To commemorate this event and their immense contribution to the development of Israeli chess composition, the ICCS (Israeli association for chess composition) announces a formal composing tourney for twin endgame studies.

Today (27th February 2012) GM Petko Petkov is celebrating his 70th jubilee! Petkov is one of the most famous chess composers with enormous contribution to this art. He is the author of more than 6000 (!) chess problems and a great number of books and theoretical articles, for many years he has been a constant leader in the world rank list of points in FIDE albums, Olympic and four times World champion, he has supported dozens of Bulgarian and foreign composers in their development…
