Three-phase complex with change of function white and black moves. Mating moves in the same square with a pin of black Knight and distant self-block. Thematic moves go on the first, second and third moves. (Author)

Very interesting theme of same white moves being tries, second moves and mates in different phases. Perhaps this pioneer (?) example will encourage others to find a better setting without the distracting multi threats !

The connection between all phases is wonderful! I like also the excellent harmony in both variations - distant selfblocks, different pin-mates from the same square... Black refutations from the tries become thematic defences. Excellent!
