33-Paskalev. The Bishop promoted is, in my opinion, a light weakness. It can be published, but it will have difficult to enter in award.

Yes, Antonio, I also think that such a kind of promoted Bishop (according to the pawns structure as in problem n.33) is a light weakness and can be accept. In my opinion the author of such a kind composition should try to avoid this "weakness", but it is not so big minus if it is not possible. Of course some composers and judges do not accept "promoted" piece of this kind. Its a matter of taste and different opinion...

I have received an email from Kenneth Solja with improved version of Paskalev's S#7 n.33 where the white Pe2 is not on its initial square and this avoid the wBg6 to be promoted. The position is the same as the original version but with following changes: wPe2>e4, wPd4>d2, +bPe5. Thank you Kenneth! He also noted that probably even better versions are possible. What the visitors think?

I know now that bPe5 is not needed, so only changes are wPe2>e4 and wPd4>d2, as Diyan has already informed.

The computer check shown that bPe5 is needed,because of duals. For example: 2.e5 Bb8 3.e6 Ba7 4.e7 Bb8 5.e8Q Ba7 6.Qh8 Bb8 7.Dh4+ T:h4#
Quoting Kenneth Solja:

Unfortunately No 29 is in fact anticipated by handful of problems, the closest probably would be PDB P0561105
