Duel wR & bQ: Cross vs Star, AUW, dual avoidance, Meredit, Task (Author)

Maximummer: Black must play the geometrically longest move or may choose from among longest moves of equal length, distances being measured from the center of each square. Diagonal and oblique distances are measured from the orthogonal coordinates by using Pythagora’s theorem (take the square root of the sum of the squares of the orthogonal distances). All other orthodox chess rules apply.

The tries c8Q/c8R+ seem to me to be of limited value: they don't prepare any white selfmate at all, so they are not meaningful tries to reach the goal - they just happen to lead to unique black moves underr the maximummer condition.

Согласен, что попытки 1.c8Q(R)? не имеют никакого решения. Но какой композитор не привел бы их к своей задаче!?
