a) 1.d8CA! CAa2 2.CAe8+ Kb4 3.CAe1+ CAd2 4.CAh3 CAxh3# b) 1.b8CA! CAa2 2.CAf1 CAh6 3.CAh4+ CAd1 4.Kd8 CAxh4# c) 1.g8CA+! CAf8 2.CAf7 CAd1 3.CAh5 CAxh5 4.b8B CAa5# Cardinal: Bishop which can rebound (only once) like a billiard ball when he reaches a square on the edge of the board. The rebound occurs on the edge of the board: A Cardinal on d7 can move on e8 then f8-g7-h6. Maximummer: Black must play the geometrically longest move or may choose from among longest moves of equal length, distances being measured from the center of each square. Diagonal and oblique distances are measured from the orthogonal coordinates by using Pythagora’s theorem (take the square root of the sum of the squares of the orthogonal distances). All other orthodox chess rules apply. |

By the way - sometime the Princess (combination of Bishop and Knight) is also so called Cardinal... But it is more correct to use its name Princess to not mistake both pieces.
