The League of Macedonian Problemists 2012

chessphotoEach composer may participate with an unlimited number of problems, but only one of his/her entries per round will score points. Ten problems will be ranked in four rounds and will be awarded points as follows:

1st Place - 12 points; 2nd Pl. - 10 pts; 3rd Pl. - 9 pts; 10th Pl. - 2 pts; a correct, non-anticipated and thematic problem - 1 point. The overall ranking will be based on the sum of points from all rounds. In the event of a tie, the best placed problems will count.

Theme (for all sections): “Dual avoidance, which can be reciprocal [№ 2], cyclic [№ 4] or free [№ 3]. Triple avoidance is also allowed [№ 1].”

Problem n.4 is fantastic - I remember when I saw it for the first time a long time ago - it give me a great pleasure... masterpiece!

Indeed Problem is superb! Hideaway moves of the black queen, excellent triple avoidance due to black queen blocking one of the potential squares for black knight. Wonderful strategy. I think this type of blocking of squares is the required theme in an ongoing Israel tourney.
